Join Lana for a long weekend of movement, music, and meditation on Wolfe Island, Ontario.

Explore a variety of yoga styles- Jivamukti-inspired vinyasa flow, yin, and restorative. On Saturday night, Lana and her partner Narada Wise, will lead a kirtan (call and response chanting), and there will be mantra woven throughout the retreat. This weekend will be an opportunity to connect to your body, slow down and tune in, and frolic in the sunshine. July will be a beautiful time to enjoy the stunning nature of Shanti- swimming, canoeing, a bonfire by the water…

More about Lana: 
Lana Sugarman is a Canadian yoga teacher, kirtan artist, and facilitator in yoga teacher training programs. She specializes in Yin, Jivamukti, Meditation, and Mantra.
Lana discovered yoga at the age of 15 in Red Deer, Alberta. She dabbled in many styles but fell in love with the creativity of Jivamukti Yoga and completed her 300 Hour training in 2009. Later that year she studied Yin Yoga with Tracey Soghrati, a 40 hour certification.
She has been graced with the teachings of many inspiring yogis, including David Life, Sharon Gannon, Sarah Powers, JP Tamblyn-Sabo, and all the beautiful souls from the Jivamukti Yoga Toronto community.

Lana has been teaching for 10 years, and strives to offer a safe and nourishing space for students. Her classes are a mix of expressive asana, stillness, and philosophy.
Also a musician and theatre artist, Lana merges her love of sound and Sanskrit with the practice of kirtan. You can find her leading call and response chanting in across North America. (Often with her husband, Narada Wise.) She has two albums of mantra music: Invocation (2013) and Reverence (2017).

Yin: Nourishing the Heart with Lucas Tensen (cello and kora)
Summer is the season of fire, and in Traditional Chinese Medicine relates to the organ of the Heart. Yin Yoga is a practice that allows us to slow down and turn inward. Poses are done close to the floor and are held for 2-5 minutes. In these long passive holds we affect change in our connective tissue, have an opportunity to practice mindfulness, and give ourselves a mini acupressure session. We will focus on poses that nourish the energy pathways of the Heart and Small Intestine organ pairing tapping into joy and compassion. Cool down and embrace stillness!

Vinyasa Pulse: Flow to the Beat of a Drum with Narada Wise
Join Lana and Narada for a Jivamukti-inspired practice with live drumming. A creative and expressive flow that will strengthen, open, and inspire. Expect a merging of mantra, movement, and music!
